INFORMATION

Trail Difficulty

Four levels based on terrain and risk vs experience.

Doesn’t necessarily include length, though that can compound difficulty level.

  • Easy: Clearly defined trails with consistent terrain, gentle inclines, and turnaround is possible at any time. Little training, conditioning, and experience required.

  • Moderate: Significant inclines, narrow trails, uneven terrain, and brush on path possible. Some experience & conditioning recommended.

  • Hard: Steep inclines, narrow or undefined, or obstructive paths. Some scrambling or loose ground may be present. Turnarounds may be difficult or dangerous. Experience required.

  • Expert: Very steep inclines, narrow or undefined, or obstructive paths. Scrambling or loose ground guaranteed. Potential to get lost or stuck without proper planning. Experience and fitness required.
